I believe time will prove that it is a great move for both Torre and the Dodgers. The Dodgers have a good core group of young players and they should do very well in the upcoming years under the control of Torre.

Good for Joe and good for the Dodgers.
Being a former National Leaguer I don't think Torre will have a problem adjusting without the DH.
If the Dodgers have the talent they will get to the WS.
But once there Joe can't play for them. They have to do it and remember... anything can't happen in a short series.
Every manager has faced that.

I think it's a big mistake on Joe Torre's part. If he simply retired, the debate would go on forever about whether he was one of the greats or not because of his record with the Yankees. If the Dodgers fail, especially if their record is worse, then everyone will know that he was a fair manager of a great team.
I hope I'm wrong. I hope he does really well. But I'm afraid that I'm very skeptical of his skills.

Not so fast, he's going to need to adjust to the new Dodger's environment before taking them places. He's been in New York for the past 12 years and L.A.'s going to be a change for him. I think it was a great hiring and they're going to be a good, solid postseason team once Torre gets adjusted.

Tough to say. I wasn't big on Torre. He had a nasty habit of messing with the bullpen too much. And he a team of All-Stars behind him back in NY. He might have trouble with the Dodgers. He has to adjust. We'll see what happens when the regular season starts up again.

I don't think that the Dodgers will make it to the World Series in his first year but they will get at least 80 wins. It just doesn't seem possible with the current lineup that they have.

I'm a SF. Giants fan, but personally, I don't think he's gonna do all that well with the Dodgers. He couldn't even get past the Indians with that overhauled $$ roster, and with young Dodgers on hand, it's gonna be hard for Torre. From Jeter to Furcal and A-Rod to Garciappara. I still wish him the best of luck in his job, and I hope that he can succeed in that position

Personally, I'm not a Dodgers fan...I don't love them, but I don't hate them, either.
However, I wish him the best of luck in his new position as LA Dodgers Manager.
I don't know if he'll be able to take them to the world series, since he's just starting off, getting used to the team, but I'm sure in a few years, its a possiblity.

torre wont take LA to the world series LA will take LA to the world series but right now the dodgers are missing a critical part in their offense a reliable power hitter so until colletti makes a great signing or trade it wont matter whos at the helm they can have Jesus as their manager but if his pitchers dont have quality starts or if his batters dont hit it just wont matter

I don't think this year they will becaue Torre is not used to the Dodger's style of ball. He does not have the resources that he had with the Yankees.
