Assuming you're talking about UNLV.

PROS- tons of jobs literally within walking distance of the campus, its a urban campus in the middle of everything & across from McCarran airport, a robust athletic following of the Rebels by students and LV locals, very ethnically diverse and there's ALWAYS big concerts and events happening there. Southern California nearby makes a very nice spring break getaway.

CONS- Vegas is a 24/7 party town with many vices, you would have to be very disciplined to complete school here, the city is taking steps to improve the campus and surrounding areas, but even when you drive by UNLV nothing about Vegas feels college town. Madison, Austin, Berkley this is not!

I guess it comes down to what you're looking for out of your college experience and your Major.

In direct comparison to a college town here in NY - New Paltz. I'm going to say No. Where Las Vegas is a party city, it's a party city for those over 21.New Paltz has things that cater to the 18-21 set.

I lived in Seattle from a at the same time as 19-23 and las vegas from 23 - 25. i'd bypass with Seattle in easy words because i understand it must be complicated to graduate from college in Las Vegas. Too many distractions in Vegas. playstation : i did not word a wide volume of previous human beings at the same time as I lived in Vegas.
