If your question was a genuine attempt to understand how and why you feel the way you do then I think you should ignore the insulting comments made by some sensitive answerers. I am gay and I am not sure you really meant the word 'hate'
Maybe you find it hard to understand or relate to the gay lifestyle but kudos for having the guts to pose the question and to read all the answers. I hope you can take some positive things from thje answers and not be too alarmed by the heavy response. I am gay and it took a long time for me to fully accept myself in the face of societal 'hatred' so, no, I am not surprised that you may be struggling with it too. It is a difficult issue for some. The above study I mention doesn'tmean you are gay because you question gay people. It's a possibility that the whole issue frightens or unnerves you but we are just like you. Really! We are. Our blood is red just like yours.

I would think that you have had limited exposure to the lives and experiences of a wide variety of people and your parents failed to teach you tolerance of others feelings.

You also do not know the difference in being bigoted or raciest. They slightly different. Unless of course you only hate gays who are of a race different than yourself.??

Normally when we hates something and don't know why. The reason is hidden within us. Sometimes its something about ourselves we see in others. Do some self examination. Ask youself this question. What is it that gays has done to me to make me hate them, and their lifestyle? What is so bad about them as a human being? And what is so bad about the way they are doing things other than having sex with each? Because, sex alone won't cut it because you have adults having sex with babies, do you hate them tool You will be surprise with what you would come up with if you would talk it out with yourself and take notes.

hating gays doesnt make you racist.... racist is when you hate (or more to the point think you're better than) a particular race (eg: blacks / whites)....

hating gays make you homophobic.....

"hate" is a very strong word..... maybe you could just use "dislike" instead?

often we feel that way because we feel threatened by thm in some way.... maybe because the idea of such a thing is yuk to you, maybe because you couldnt think of yourself doing that, or maybe because they are getting away with something you couldnt.......maybe because it doesnt seem "natural".... etc (you have to fill in that one about why it makes you uncomfortable)...

I imagine, assuming that we substitute the word 'racist' for 'bigoted', that you hate gays because it is your choice to. It makes you neither a bad person nor an ignorant fool.

Though I personally find your choice unpleasant, it IS your choice. You may have been simply trying to provoke a reaction, I don't know, but you haven't in this case. I support your right to your beliefs.

Erm - real life aint that simple. Inside every one of us deep down is that nagging feeling " i wonder what it would be like" most of us never explore, some experiment, others just know there sexual preference as children, and to be preached makes those children grow up with resentment etc etc.

Live & let live, as long as you are comfortable in your sexuality then leave others be.

Do you hate all gays? Some you can't even tell are gay, I have a gay son and he also dislikes some gays, I have a black son in law and he doesn't like all blacks. I think who you like and do not like should depend on someones character not color or lifestyle, but I also think you don't have to like all people and should be free to say you don't like them.

btw, both stem mainly from ignorance. blanket hatred for any large group when you do not know the inidviduals that make it up is stupid. take people as individuals. like those who deserve it, dislike those who deserve it. to just blindly state "i hate gays" is based on nothing more than stereotyping. learn to think for yourself. and get to know some gay people, you will find most of them are very likable.
