How can you not fire old Charlie. He sucks as much sh** as he talked, about how he was a much better coach than everybody and college defenses could not keep his offense out of the end zone. He said his plays were so complex nobody stood a chance ha

It seems clear to me that Weis is not a good college football coach. I read a lot of excuses, such as they have too many young players with no experience. I think someone, was it Auburn that beat Florida with three freshmen starting on the offensive line.

Then there is the excuse of not enough talent. I'm pretty sure that Notre Dame has more talent than Navy or Purdue. I think it's not so much the talent that you have, but how well you utilise it.

It seems that Weis hasn't utilised the talent that he has very well, or taught them what the need to know about playing college football.

I don't think that coach Charlie Weis should be fired for the debacle in the 4th quarter. I think he should be fired for the debacle of the season.

Notre Dame should of never run Lou Holtz off, They have been soft ever since! Ty was a loser! so was Bob Davie! and now Charlie Weis. They should have hired Tom Clement a former N.D. quarterback - football star won a national champion! 12 year pro and is currently the quarterback coach for Brett Favre. He also graduated magna *** laude from the Notre Dame law school. He could Wake up the Echos and everyone would remember what the Irish are all about and ND would be in the driver seat again! ND hasn't won 19 national championship by Luck! Fire Weis! Hire Tom Clement ! and ND will rise again!

Disappointing is an undestatement. even with the undeniable fact that, i believe that he ought to survive for a minimum of a few extra seasons. Weis has the toughest job of any college soccer coach. In maximum colleges, the pinnacle soccer coach can get a toddler with the brains of a house plant into the college on the condition that he's in a position to play shielding address. Weis, on the different hand, certainly needs to rigidity approximately academic standards. even with the undeniable fact that, because of the fact that he has only netted the appropriate recruiting type interior the rustic in accordance to the two opponents and Scout, if I have been in Weis' shoes, i might survive with a view to work out how this 300 and sixty 5 days's recruiting type pans out.

He wouldn't kick a field goal because he is ARROGANT ! That's why...Trying a field goal would make him look like a mere mortal. Only ordinary coaches will try a field goal to win a game with so much time left on the clock (45 seconds). Or maybe he has ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE whatsoever in his special teams and his defense to stop a NATIONAL PREEMINENT POWERHOUSE .." NAVY !" we are talking about the US NAVY here now. If they score that field goal and ..let's say ..3 seconds goes of the clock..42 sec left..kick off and maybe a 8 yard return..8 sec gone..that is 36 seconds left for navy to go down and score a touchdown..He can't put that much pressure on his defence...Are You Kidding?... Please DO NOT fire him.. I want him to stay for the full 10 years. I am enjoying this. Plus.. Why should they fire Charlie ? .It's all Ty Willingham's fault anyway...Reason why he didn't kick the firld goal? PRIDE & ARROGANCE " I must win in GRAND FASHION or not win at all..

in this situation you atleast attempt the field goal. if you make it, you win the game and get the streak to 44 games, if you miss it goes to overtime(because navy was never going to drive down the field in 35 sec.)like it did anyway. also the two point conversion call may have been the worst call i have ever seen. goal line formation, back in the i, straight handoff to the 3rd string back. HORRIBLE. at least attempt a roll out and have evan sharpley run it in, or throw it. They need to fire weis, and get a real coach. a thing with notre dame coaches is they always either have a legend as a coach, or an absolute stumbling, bumbling boob. today was another example of weis thinking he a genius, and making a stupid call.

Pretty baffling decision to not kick the f.g., yes.

The thing about Charlie is his team has not made any PROGRESS even this far into the season. OK, it's a down year, we understand, but at least prove that you are learning from these debacles each week (maybe by attempting a field goal at an opportune time?!?!).

Inexperience is a legitimate excuse at the start of the season, but nine games later they are still completely lost.

P.S. It doesn't help that Jimmy Clausen makes Ron Powlus look like Joe Montana.

Notre Dame deserves everything they are getting for firing Ty Willingham for a coach who benefitted and probably contributed to the cheating in New England. He even looked like Belichick on the sideline with that dirty dingy gray sweatshirt on. He won with Ty's recruits and he can't buy one with his own. They traded a proven head coach for a cheating rookie who clearly is getting on the job training. But they won't fire him because they are so smug and stupid and now have to somehow prove that they made the right decision to fire Ty and hire Weis when everyone knows at this point that they screwed up.

He should be fired. Tyrone Willingham was fired at Notre Dame and the year he was fired his record was better than Charlie Weis. Hate to bring race into this but if he is not fired, something is wrong here.

43 year streak of dominance pissed away in one afternoon, way to go Charlie.

YO ANNARBOR

Please don't lump me in with Notre Dame fans, just pointing out the inept job done this year by the Irish. I'm not front running but I have been a Buckeye fan for more than 25 years now. Badgers dispatched, bring on the next victim.
