I don't know any woman named La Fred or Tahani..that is just too crazy. It sounds like something you just made up.

Honey a lot of names like Kaya are African in origin. You've heard it before huh? You've seen all races with this name. Bet you didn't know that? You need to do some studying.

The question is why do people care. People have the right to name their kids want they want. It maybe strange and weird to you but not to them. Secondly, dumb names can be found in every race not just black.

beyonce was her mothers maiden name. her mother didn't want to lose the family name so she gave it to her daughter as her first. and yes black people do name their children strange names but some of them originated from Africa and then the black people put their own spin on it. my name is tinesha which is from the Swahili language but then my mother change the spelling.

I don't know if it is specifically Black people, but I just don't understand people that just make up a name -- most of them sound stupid and you have no idea how to spell them.

Me personally. I like unique names. I don't want my child to have the same name as everyone else. I think that it gives them a sense of uniqueness about them. And if you are wondering, yes, my son has an unique name. And I could care less if people think it's ghetto. His names is ZhaeMarreion. If you are wondering how to pronounce it, it's like this Zay Maury on

Kelandria...That kinda sounds like my name Talandria..

To be honest I think we do it because of that fact that many of us don't know what part of Africa we're from and we're mixed up with other races to and how many of us actually have the money to move to Africa? So why not make our own culture with our own names?

And really who's to say that the name is stupid just because it's made up, all names are made up because language is.
