Humor can be found wherever and whenever one chooses. When my Grandfather was dying of CANCER he found ways to make light of his own condition and we laughed
WITH him instead of criticizing his positive attitude.

No, don't be too concerned yet. At least he doesn't thank you are Aunt Hilde, and tries to pay the Dog the $$$$ he owes you. Then you would have to worry, you don't want the dog to get rich after all......

Frustrating, isn't it?!!!
If your Dad really does have Alzheimer's, you have my deepest sympathy! My mother-in-law, and my Dad both died of Alzheimer's. If you're dealing with it in your family, I know you have to laugh sometimes, or go crazy! =)
If you're NOT really dealing with someone with Alzheimers, believe me ... it's nothing to joke about!

My Dad's twin brother passed away from Alzheimer's, but he had a great sense of humor about it... he once told me one of the good things about it was that he could hide his own Easter eggs.
He was a great guy... I miss him a lot.
