Had all tests and NHS lie about results, so I can not use any Gyno around for miles I have many problems seen two consultants both failed to take proper care of me.
You have to wait 8-9 months here in ENGLAND for scans. They have given me the run around for over four years. I give up, they have only caused more pain and admitted to emergency ward after being given the antibiotics which caused extreme allergy which nearly killed me and could have been avoided.

Moley, here are 2 reasons due to a thyroid that is out of whack:

Hyperthyroid muscle disease. Hyperthyroid muscle disease takes several forms. Diffuse muscle disease is not uncommon with an overactive thyroid gland. This frequently causes thigh muscle weakness that may be mild or severe. Shrinkage of muscle and collection of fat in the muscles does occur. Muscle chemicals in the blood are generally normal. Paralysis of the eye muscles may exist. Swelling of the eyelids and the other layers of the eye, and eye nerve inflammation, are not unusual.

Hypothyroid muscle disease. Muscle disease from an underactive thyroid gland is characterized by slow movements and delayed muscle contraction. Fifty percent of patients will complain of weakness, muscle cramping, pain and stiffness. Muscle enlargement is noted in 15 percent of patients, but muscle shrinkage is rare. Symptoms are aggravated by cold and inactivity. Chemicals from muscle tissue can be quite elevated in the blood. An EMG test (electromyogram) will demonstrate a characteristic abnormality. Examination of muscle tissue under the microscope shows typical changes.

OMG! I have the same thing going on right now.

I just went yesterday to a massage therapist. I am going to go twice a week for a month or so to see if it helps.
I get my blood work done every three months and have not had any thyroid problems. The therapist asked me that question about the thyroid as well.

She is registered and it was Dr. ordered. I also requested an EMG for my own peace of mind.
I am not looking forward to this test, but better than worrying about it.
I have these pains in front, and sides, of my thighs, also on the side muscles of my knee joints. The pain is symmetrical, am I am hoping it is because I have been sitting in this computer chair for too many hours in the day.. I am pretty fit, use to teach kick-boxing and I don't know if it is just the strain of that catching up. The EMG will hopefully rule out MS and PAD look this up Moley, I can also let you know how things go. If they don't throw me outta here. Do the thyroid test too K?

The thyroid gland is located on the front of the throat, under the Adam’s apple. It includes 2 lobes that lie on the two component of the windpipe, joined in front via an isthmus. The thyroid gland secretes hormones to alter many metabolic procedures, which is composed of advance and ability expenditure. Hypothyroidism skill the thyroid gland is underactive and fails to secrete sufficient hormones into the bloodstream. This motives the guy’s metabolism to decelerate.

I have suffered with an underactive thyroid for 33 years.

When I start to pms, the top of my thighs are very sore. Your thyroid regulates almost everything in your body. Make sure you take your medication regularly... don't skip!!!

Make sure you take regular blood tests to make sure your thyroid levels are good.

Check with your gyn to see if anything else is giving you upper leg pains.
