I am a 13 year old white kid. I am 5-7. I'm about 4 inches away from being able to grab the rim. I would like to be able to grab rim by the time I go to a tournament in about 3 n a half months. Any help?

Walk on your toes for 2 minutes, fully stretchng your hands up in the air, it will strenghten your leg muscels. Also try doeing different jumps, on and off a small bench or somethimg, rabbit and frog jumps etc. Putting on some weight (not too much) while doeing all this should help. Note: don't over pracice jur jumping the last 2 or 3 days, you need to be fresh for tournament if you wanna jump high!

stand next to a chair that's stable and can hold your weight. Start out with one foot on it and the other one on the ground . Bend a t the knee and step up using your muscles, NOT sheer force. DO this 10 times on each leg for a set of 3 at a time. After you've done your sets do 2 laps of walking lunges around a basket ball sized gym floor. Don't stop and head over to your chair again were you you get into the same position as before, only this time instead of stepping up, you get down into a low squat and jump up in an explosion, and come back down . Cont. this 10 times on each side for 3 reps.
Do this entire process three times, good luck!!!

Take 5 lb weights in each hand and practice jumping up and down. Then to test if the vertical is better jump without the weights.
