I hate it when this teacher thinks I'm shy. It's so annoying. One time, she came up to me after class and said "You should participate more" or something around those lines. Did this ever happen to you?
So I'm trying to be loud in the halls, talking tomy friends to show her I'm really outgoing. And I'm trying to participate more in her class. But, I'm not participating as much in other classes as much as hers. I try to, but I'm always called on BEFORE I even raise my hand. It's a pain in the neck.
Any advice or situtions that you can relate to in your life?
Thx:)

I am a teacher and i think the best way to deal with this is to talk to your Form Tutor and tell her about the teacher. You could say something like this, ' The teacher doesn't give you the chance to put your hand up to answer her question before she picks you out to answer. ' Tell her that you aren't worried about talking infront of the class but you feel she isn't giving you the opportunity to show her what you know. Your teacher obviously sees you as a bright student and may not think you are shy as such, so I wouldn't try and be loud in the hall etc to prove a point as this will just get you a bad reputation. Once your form tutor has had a talk with the teacher you will see a difference and you will be able to put your hand up and offer your answer....then everyone will be happy!

Well, I am generally considered shy, but I never was talked to by a teacher. Just always raise your hand a show that you are interesting in the subject. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Teachers love when you ask a lot of questions. If you question that shows that you are not too shy.
Just don't do anything that will get you a reputation of being loud and too outgoing. Well if that's what you want.......
Try that.. If you need more ideas you can always write me back. Lots of luck

Yes i got that all through school, it was sooooooo annoying and im still getting it at uni. yesterday my lecturer said "lets ask the girl that obviously seems to love talking so much, yeah right"
. Things like that have put me off participating in class now, it feels like teacher are watching you constantly to see if you say something and if you do they analyse it so much. I tried being loud and rebellious in school but that made things worse. be yourself, ignore what they say and think. you know that you can be really outgoing when you want be

I once asked her what I need to work on and she said I need to She says i need to get more involved and eveyrthing. I know she knows I have an outgoing side since she has seen this side of me when we played this one game Zi was super competitive and she was actually shocked by this and I guess this made her like me as a friend lol. They are just trying to heolp you.

talk to your teacher, most teachers are pretty understanding. Maybe "shy" is her way of telling you that you aren't participating enough (slacking off?) nicely. She expects more out of you then you are giving now. Your participation will probably be reflected in your grade.

Suck it up and participate in class discussion. The more you do it the better you'll get at it. Teachers will notice you and begin to value what you have to say. Participating orally and putting forth the effort really counts.

Your instructor is the shame. there is not something incorrect with being shy. yet do not subject your self, handle board your instructor's comments, whether recommend they have been, and contemplate whether you'll be a greater constructive student. it is to not please your instructor or classmates, this is to grant your self a greater constructive hazard of fulfillment in person existence. And maximum of all, do not enable comments like this to make you experience valueless. you're actually not a shame to your self. the thank you to administration? placed some music on which you like, dance and sing.

Just be yourself what feels comfortable to you. But do try to break out of your mold in positive ways. She thinks you have something to contribute which is good.

Flip out one day in class, but don't hurt anybody. Just keep yelling, "QUIT TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN. YOU CALM DOWN!" even if no one is asking you to calm down. Then your teacher will think your crazy and never question you again. I guess you gotta ask yourself, how bad do you want it?
