my mic only records my voice and not the music in the background..

agello is right. many built-in mics are designed just for recording voice. if you buy another mic (i have this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8328393&st=computer+mic&type=product&id=1174694369477) it'll work better.
