Not sure if the shot had anything to do with it but once I got off the shot, took last one in January, and then finally got pregnant in September and had a miscarriage. Now I'm scared about getting pregnant again so I won't have to go through that again. I've gained like 30 lbs since starting the shot... And was always very moody. Still very moody and my body just seems not to want to get back in line.

I was on it for 7 years...If i could afford it, I would definitely go back on it...Never had my period. Gained about 5-10 lbs(fluctuating) in the whole 7 years. I have heard of people losing clumps of hair, but they also ate really unhealthily (if that's a word?) My only "side effect" as it neared my next shot I got very moody, and sometimes aggressive and snappy. So I would get my shot every 2 1/2 months instead of 3 months...

Its HORRIBLE...

I suffered a lot of horrible side affects from the shot. I'd never recommend this to anyone as too many women suffer serious health issues because of it.

That link will have more reviews and you could also google "depo provera lawsuit".

I went to Kariva immediately after and I'm so much happier now. I only hope that the depo shot didn't screw with my ability to conceive.

Don't take depo!

I had a horid time on it as did the people around me. For 4 years I did not get my periode, not once not even a little bit. (It had it's perks) There have been cases where women bled non stop.

Then there were mood swings and I gained 20 pounds. People thought I was pregnant.

Trust me it is not worth it

i don't want to talk about all the trouble i've gone and am still going through 5 years later after just one shot. but i'd recommend that you stay away from the shot if you can. most people i know who've used it ended up w/ side effects.
you should try Mirena.

I gained like 20 lbs. :(
And, every month when i should have had a period my stomach would swell up so big that i couldn't wear jeans and the pain would be severe..

But that's just me, some people have no symptoms at all. Particularly, realy skinny people. People who are naturally thin.
