Im an advertising major and in part of a course project I was instructed to come up with a creative cover letter idea. Breaking the current conventions this letter has to stand out (the basic idea is that it stands out from a pile of a hundred 8x11 white letters). This can be done through the delivery or format.

Im at a complete loss here as all the ideas I've had have been done before so if you have any idea please let me know.

Past formats (so you get an idea): A poster. A cover letter rolled up inside a soccer ball. However it has to be on paper (so no videos or cds)

PS. This only refers to the cover letter, not to a resume.
And "fancy paper" is not a good suggestion.

Go crazy!

With this being an employers' industry, be warned. in case you supply them your suited stuff before the interview, you danger letting somebody have your skills for loose...and additionally you will no longer get credit or paid for the introduction.
