I mean they always put stuff that is way too hard to read. Like:
C u l8r
he sad dat he was comin n al

I mean it gets on my nerves! I just want to be able to read what they are saying. It's fine if they mispell something or put a U for you every once in a while, but I hate it when they completely blow out. Am I crazy? Or, is there anyone else out there that feels the same way I do?

No, I am not crazy, it's just God gave us languages and none of them, at least that I know of, talk like 10 year olds.

I am in 6th grade, too, and nobody tells me I'm not ''coolio'' just because I write properly.

Yes I do wish people would use better grammar and spelling but there is a spell checker for the latter. I guess a lot of them text friends and find it easier to use abbreviations and slang. I also have to look at the other side of it that there are a lot of uneducated people who need to get answers to questions. I am amazed with a lot of the questions in this forum. It makes me realize, to a degree, what the state of young people is these days.

I don't let it bother me, because the deaths in Iraq bother me more, and kids using texting while driving sets me bonkers. But people who don't use correct grammar are mostly using this site to kill time, not to show off their education, I would think. I delete what really bothers me, as there are thousands of other questions or answers to look at.
But you are not crazy, mentally ill, or anything so terrible. You are just a human being, who gets impatient with imperfect people. So many of us out there, we must truly drive you crazy. Have a good life.

I don't like it if it's done to the point where it's almost obscene. I think it's funny, though, how whenever a question is asked about grammar or spelling, you'll get a few people who will switch to their "proper" tone of writing, or you'll get the predictable answers with exaggerated mistakes.
