Use crayola model magic. It comes in all colors and is pretty light. Its like play dough only half the weight. I guess if it was ginormous it might be too heavy, but you could try. You can buy it at most stores like walmart and target. Here is a link to Crayola.com store.

How complex a model do you have to make? If you just have to make something that looks like the brain on the outside, I would make a papier mache model. I think you can find a formula on the internet. You blow up two balloons, one about twice as large as the other. You may want to wet the ballons or something. Cut strips of news paper. Make a bowl of I believe flour and water - make it soupy. Dose the paper in the mixture and apply to the balloons in several layers. Leave the open end of the balloon uncovered. When it hardens, pop the balloon but hold the tied end so you can pull the balloon out. Paint the balls. Cut the larger balloon about one third up. you want to construct something at this end that looks like the bottom of the brain and connect the other balloon to the back - that will be the cerebellum. Find a picture of the brain to perfect these directions.

I recently made one for my psychology class. I took tin foil and molded it to the model of a brain...I cut it in half and cumpled up tissue paper and put it on the different lobes. Then, I drew on a piece of paper the interanl parts of the brain and put those on the part where it was cut. Wow, I hope that made sense. I thought my brain turned out really cool. I hope this helps. Good luck

play dough or whatever that "artificial clay" they sell for kids to make figures and stuff.
To cut weight, build the model around a ball or plastic bag stuffed with newspapers.
