That's half of it. The other part is that the elder wand refused to kill Harry, as it's master, so it attacked the horcrux instead.

Yeah, you got it. The killing curse killed the horcrux that Moldy Shorts accidentally put into Harry when he tried killing him the first time (when he was one). The little baby thing crying was the part of Voldemort inside of Harry, and the whole King's Cross Station thing represented Harry's choice to go on or to go back and live.

From what I understood it was the fact that the killing curse killed Voldemort's last Horcrux. I'm not quite sure why he had a choice but I think it was just that Dumbledore wanted to explain the situation to Harry on why it was important for HIM to decide that he would sacrifice himself for the good of the Wizarding world as a whole.

You're right. When Voldemort used the killing curse, it killed the part of his soul that was inside Harry, since Harry was a horcrux.

I think the Killing Curse had just basically killed the Horcrux part of Harry - not Harry himself.

Because one of the horcruxes was in harry! When he hit him with the killing curse it only killed the horcrux and not harry!

i thought that......u know, i don't know what i thought. i think it was...........magic. wow. what a concept. no, i think it had something to do with meeting dumbledore in the middle and he was sort of destined to kill voldy.
