STANDARD FORM Please PLease Help me 10 POINTS....?

1) A pile of 10 000 sheets of the paper used in a book is one metre high. Work out the thickness of one sheet of paper in metres, writing your answer in standard form.



2) If the number 3.52 times 10^-7 is written out in full, how many zeros follow the 2 ???

3) If the number 6.2 times 10^-7 is written out in full, how many zeros would there between the decimal point and the 6?

4) Write in order of size, smallest first:

p= 5 times 10^5
q= 6 times 10^4
r= 8 times 10^-6
s= 25 000

5) Which of the following has the largest volume if
x= 2 times 10^4
and y= 2 times 10^-2

a) xy

b) x^2 (x squared)

c) x/y (x over y)

d) 1/y^3 (1 over y cubed)

Q2 is 5 if its positive, 0 if its negative, i'm a bit confused as to why they would ask if it does have a - sign. you should work out the rest yourself

the number that 10 is put to the power of is the number of times the decimal place jumps to the left or right (positive=right negative = left)

Having people do your homework for you will not help you when it comes time to take a test in class. You should make an attempt to understand what you are doing. That's the point of taking classes.
