Normally when someone says they are disfellowshipped I do not answer their question on here, but usually they are just trying to seek ways to make us break our devotion to Jehovah by seeing if we will answer them. But you seem a little more sincere than most. As for me, I rarely run into someone who is disfellowshipped. We simply don't run in the same circle's anymore. Most people who are disfellowshipped are that way due to not following the counsel of bad association spoiling useful habits. I have rarely seen someone disfellowshipped while keeping quality friends from the KH. However, I have stopped and helped a few people who were disfellowshipped. There was a talk many years ago that has always stuck in my head. It had a true illustration in it about an elder's son. This son watched what his dad was doing and lost sight of the truth by his dad's bad decisions. Here is how the story went. There was an elder who was always telling his son not to be judging others. They always left early for the meetings. One Sunday morning it was raining, there was a car broke down beside the road, the car belonged to a disfellowshipped man. The son knew his dad usually stopped to help certain people if they needed, so the son asked if they were going to stop and help this ex-brother out. The elder replied, "no, he is disfellowshipped and is just looking to go get in more trouble. I am certainly not going to stop and help him." The Watchtower study started and in walked this ex-brother soaked to the bones. He walked 5 miles to get to the KH. A few weeks later there was another car with a flat tire. An elderly sister who wasn't regular due to health problems and old age was out there trying to fix the flat herself. The son said, "hey dad, that's sister so-and-so, we should stop and help her." His dad said, "no son, she don't make it to the meetings enough to worry about helping her, besides I don't want to be late." 15 minutes into the talk, in walks this elderly sister, dirty from dealing with the tire, but she got to the meeting and she even answered a few questions during the Watchtower study. A few weeks past, and yet again, another car on the side of the road. (Must have been a horrible road for all these people to break down) This time it was a young ministerial servant who also had a lucrative job. The dad couldn't get the car stopped fast enough. He jumped out and in 5 minutes they had the car up and going. The son asked his dad why he stopped to help this brother who was physically capable when he wouldn't stop to help the elderly poor sister nor the disfellowshipped person. His dad replied, "well son, you see, some people you help because at some point they may be able to help you." Sadly, that was the last meeting his son went to. I keep this story in mind. Why? When Jesus gave the illustration of the Good Samaratin, the Jews felt about the Samaratins about the same way some JW's, sadly, feel about disfellowshipped people. We are taught to quit mixing in company with those who are disfellowshipped, but does that mean we can't help them out if they are in distress? We are not to have undue communication with them. Undue, does not mean to be mean to or go out of our way to ignore. If I were to see someone in the grocery store and I knew they were disfellowshipped, I would not go up and greet that person, but I would smile at them and perhaps wave. As I wave to most people anyhow. If I see that person at the KH on the other hand, I may pat them on the back for being there. They are on the right track to getting back in good relationship with Jehovah. So what goes through my mind? Simply put, I think there is another prodigal son, some day he may decide to come home.

I would tend to agree with him if he said that!! This is the worst X-Factor ever. People seem to be voting the best acts out - if that's possible :)
