-I don't want to get a Macintosh

Most off the peg computers are for those who are happy either to take the latest or the best they can afford.

As you seem to know what you want, maybe you should have one built to your specifications.

Apple computers are used commercially for graphic work, but you have ruled them out. If you're after high memory and fast processing you're after a high priced computer. If you can't afford a high priced computer then somewhere you are going to have to compromise
