the original is sooooooooo lame, you can see strings holding up the space ships, but it was a good movie for its time

The Tom Cruise version was better but to really appreciate that, get a copy of the original Orson Welles radio broadcast that was done on Halloween, ignore the first part where it tells that it is a play, and then sit back with your eyes closed and imagine it is a year before television and the only news you get is there on the radio. It makes it easy to understand why it raised such a panic.

Yeah, it was miles better than the remake. Sure the FX were better but i fely it was too personal, plus certain things didn't make sense.
