my truck has a 409 sticker on it, definatly aftermarket not from chevrolet but what does that mean? it just says 409.

Someone stuck it on to make it look like a hot rod. 409 motor (size) did not come on any of the trucks.

As the other people have said, it could refer to the "W" engine 409 or it could be a 400 cubic inch Chevy engine with an over bore that made it 409 cubic inches. Maybe it's just a sticker and doesn't mean anything. People will put anything on their trucks. See this site to prove my point.

"409" was the cubic inch displacement of a motor commonly called the "W" block because of it's unique valve cover shape. The motor first appeared in 1961 in the Impala SS which by the way was also the first car to carry the SS badge. The motor was available in all full size Chevrolets from 1961 until 1965. Originally the "W" motor's first cubic inch displacement was 348 which first appeared in 1958 and this engine was designed to be a truck motor in the beginning.

Around 1961 Chevy made a 409 cubic inch motor that was way ahead of it's time in performance.

the 60s and 70s were the most popular for the 409 that chev made

cheverolet used to have a big block in the late 50's and early 60's. and it was a 409.
