Is racial motivation always negative?

What if a person makes any given issue into a race issue whether truly accurate or not? Do you think being racially motivated can hinder a persons ability to rationalize and give an honest look at some issues?

As a Hispanic person, I believe a person can be positively motivated. We try to fight stereotypes, and integrate in American society, so we work hard to reach the place which has taken other racial groups a hundred years, but only if we see if from that point of view.
I believe minorities should stop blaming the white man for our mishapping and start to work towards our progress.

so there's the difference from being negatively motivated by being a racial minority and a positive way of being racially motivated.

Yes, for instance say there is a white mayor of city were most of the black citizens are poor or in suffering. He can be racially motizated to help the poor blacks specifically in some way so that the income/quality of life between the blacks and the more well of racial groups gap is lessened, or vice versa.

Yes and no to the first two questions. The best response to detractors is success, isn't it? One name: Jackie Robinson.

The person who blames his or her skin color, whatever it may happen to be, for a lack of success in every situation will never succeed in the modern world because there is a built-in excuse that is already being exercised, whether it is "I can't go to the college I want to attend because I am black and my teachers won't give me good enough grades." or "I can't go to the college I want to attend because they don't want white basketball players.", it is just an excuse.

To rationalize anything means you have to see it with an open mind.. which can not be done if you are already seeing everything with a racial perspective...

I think it can be positive with being proud of yourself, but not thinking of yourself or race, over others.

However, I wish we were all blind to race.
