I keep telling him they don´t have places besides the tourist industry, but he thinks I´m wrong.

As the man above me said, there are major projects going on here in town. The City center alone is one of the most major projects around,

And this place is booming, about 2,000 to 5,000 a month move here.

But before you move here, make sure you don't have any addictions and do some looking around online.

I don't know what type of engineer is he, so
here's a quick craigslist search to help you out.

There's IGT (International Gaming Technologies), the Las Vegas Valley Water District, and there's construction going on all the time. Maybe he could be a teacher at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering.

Respectfully, you're wrong. There are all types of jobs besides tourist industry positions. I have heard the starting salary for white collar jobs here is not as competative as in other places, but the jobs are here.

Monster currently has 2951 job openings for Las Vegas.

you are wrong , Las Vegas has nothing but major construction and land development going on year around, your husband (depending on what type of engineer he is) will have no problem finding a job out there, however i would search on the internet and set something up before you move, you can also go to jobs.net and search the area you are interested in, Good Luck

Depending on what type of engineer he is, there are other jobs out there. If he is something like a civil/mechanical engineer you can look into Marnell, they are a pretty good size contractor out there. If your planning to move consider other cost differentials. Depending on where your moving from you could see increases in car insurance, electrical bill, and a lower paying job. As I would advise anyone, do your homework before you make the move...

Suggest that he gets a job in Las Vegas first and then you can move here. This is not a place to raise children and we are running out of water. Best Wishes.
