If by prominent you mean famous or powerful, well there have been thousands, whether suspected or confirmed. Some are Alexander the Great; Roman Emperor Nero; one of the Persian kings Darius; author Oscar Wilde (imprisoned for alledged perversion of young aristocrat); Spanish author and poet Federico Garcia Lorca (disappeared and suspected murdered during General Franco's dictatorship).
You can add to this a very long list of other writers, film pioneers, poets, etc. And yes many more others in the royalty, past and present.
