I know some people don't like them but almost all animals are scared!!

They see all these lights with burning fire and loud bangs not knowing what and why it is happening. Nobody can explain to them what is going on, and although it happens every year there is a long period of time as to remember that the displays rarely cause any harm.

I don't understand why people think that all animals are frightened of fireworks. I have four dogs and neither of them run and hide at the sound of a firework going off...they just behave as you would expect a dog to behave....lie there in front of the fire and sleep.

I guess they just dont understand what all the commotion is! Obviously a naturally nervous animal will freak out big time - so much light and big bangs etc. Other animals might not give them a second thought (domestic pets more than wild animals). Have I just confused the issue here?!!

Because they're smart. Ever have a fire cracker go off in or near your hand or head? It hurts!

People sometimes don't give animals the credit due for their intelligence in some areas. Now, if we could just train them to sit in front of TVs during primaries and political debates we could be vote for presidents and prime ministers.

Their hearing is better than that of humans for one thing.
My dog used to be so afraid of lightning.He was a 108 lb. Doberman who acted just like a baby whenever the thunder storms would start.I had to wrap him in a blanket and hold him tight until he stopped kicking and moaning.Animals are more sensitive than we think.

People dont like other people dressed in black running towards them with a flaming torch.

Animals dont like the noises and the bright lights. Its scary.

Animals dont light fire but knows it can kill them, they only live for survival, and big bangs and fire freaks them out

not animals only my dear human beying also as animal afraid of fire you know god will punish bad peoples by fire so it is natural thing to afraid of
