It's all in the upbringing methinks. When you have compassionate and caring parents, you feel more deeply for the multitudes. We've a co-worker who had a hard childhood, her mother was mentally ill; her father was a selfish man who drank all the time. She shows no emotion for anything. Deep feelings never come from her. Quite sad really.

No. I have learned that we all show emotions differently.
I hope you will experience a caring feeling from people on the seniors cite. That is our main objective here.
Reaching out to someone who is in need of emotional acceptance and understanding will also give you an opportunity to realize how much you can help someone else and your feeling that no one cares will diminish.
I find I am more lonely when I don't help or join in. I am so sorry for your loss. Yes, I have experienced the feeling of no one caring for a long time or, many times to be more accurate.
It takes time to heal from a loss. You are experiencing that feeling now. It will get better. Stay with us and we will do our best to support you.

I often feel that way. I'm very tender hearted and certain things hurt me easily. Also it bothers me when I see others being hurt or taken advantage of.
I'm so sorry for what you are going through. It would help if you get out and be around others. Maybe you could join a local group or take a class. I visit at a nursing home and the people there are glad to have company. I know they care about me and are always happy to see me. Know that there are some very caring people on this site and that we are here for you. God Bless You!

Yes I am wondering if there is surgery for that? I have even thought about asking if hypnosis would dull down the emotional response to situations? Maybe some drugs?
I always think these are the people who eventually crack up and end up in an institution. There are a lot of Psychology articles written about it -
And found this interesting piece about Chinese medicine, I am going to look into this.
I will make you a deal, you try this for a week and I will try it and then we will compare notes? ya think?

I am very sensitive, and feel very intense, especially about the people who are hurting, and my children and friends.
I think the younger generation don;t feel it so much. Some do, but generally. To me their attitude is "who cares" , as long as I am OK.
My friends and I have wept together over a friend who died. We have laughed and done crazy things, like waltzing to Strauss on someone's lawn, at 4AM in the morning, at their birthday party. We have gone on week-ends, and I actually have photos of us playing on the swings and see saws. God has really blessed me with the most wonderful bunch of friends, and I thank Him for that. because I am very sensitive.
They are always there for me. And, so are all of you on the site.

Yes I have. I am a very sensitive person and I don't like seeing anyone hurt. The people are different in the Carolinas than South FL for some reason and I do like it better here,

Personally, think that most people share basically the same emotions. Thing is we're all different and some had more public control than others.

Yes! and I know I do...that has been one of gifts yet also one of my achilles heel...
As far as feeling like no one cares...I go through that too [even though I know it's not true] I try to remind myself that people love in the best way that they individually know...not my way :-)
