The state does have a right and duty to protect the rights and welfare of all citizens including children.
However, this could be a misuse of that power. Idaho has a moral responsibility to get an honest evaluation of the warrant. I know that states honor all warrants as a courtesy but this is something special.
If it were Terry Schiavo it would be a national debate!
