Mine is Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine, you would think that they would play Another brick In the Wall Part 2 or Time, but nope, I hear Welcome to the Machine at least twice a day and I don't even listen to that much radio.

Yours?

Sean M: They need to be reminded that there are are more than just a few classic rock bands... it's the same bands in constant rotation and the same 5 songs by those bands.

Isis: If you have the same version as I do, there's a hidden track at the end of Pretty Song, you have to let the cd play after Pretty Song is over (for like 20 minutes, lol).

Isis: Track 13 is nothing... seriously, just silence, Pretty Song (and it is pretty!) is like 4 miutes long and the is a 20 something break of silence and the rest is the hidden track.

Stairway to heaven, over and over. It is a great song though just played too many times to be fully appreciated

Free Bird is played every half hour...at least. But, Free Bird is played everywhere here...from festivals to funerals.

p.s. I thought I'd let you know, I got Radar in the mail today! I'm listening to it right now...I'll have to let you know what I think.

Edit: I'm uploading the CD onto my computer so I can put it on my iPod and listen to it at work tomorrow (haha, that's one thing I love about my job...I can listen to music!)...I see the hidden track but it says that it is only 5 seconds long, but that Pretty Song is 30 minutes long...is Pretty Song that long (I don't know because I haven't got that far on the CD yet and my computer is VERY slow, so it'll take a while to upload...)?

Edit: So far so good...I'm listening to Engine Runnin' right now. I'm not a fan of Remember or Riverside (I don't really like the guitar in those songs...maybe they'll grow on me), but everything else is great. I love the way he sings with a southern accent, maybe? Well, it's some sort of accent...it's great.

Oh, and I'd like to add to the question at hand...Old Time Rock N' Roll and Satisfaction are two more songs that are highly overplayed...

In my area, it's AC/DC Back In Black. It's not that I don't like it, but every time you put on the dial? Out of all the songs in a supposed classic rock catalog?

Years and years ago, they never really stuck to a format. They would just pick a track on the record, play it, and you'd always have variety. What's with these programming directors? Someone needs to remind them that there are more than two or three songs on an album.

All of them. With the feeds coming off satellites for most stations these days, the program list is sometimes twelve songs long. Ouch. I yearn for the days of Album Oriented Rock with no play list and real freedom. That was back in the days of vinyl, for those of you that didn't get to hear it.

"Stairway to Heaven."

The interesting thing about modern playlists is that they have the playlists closed to anything except "proven classic rock." The reason that is interesting is, had FM rock stations had that mentality in the 70s, there would be no "Stairway to Heaven," because it was never released as a single! (The other overplayed FM rock staple, "Free Bird," was also never a single.)

AC/DC "Dirty Deeds" and "You Shook Me" are played ad nauseum on every classic rock station I hear

I'm convinced that AC/DC is THE most overplayed band of all time
