can the fastest runner in sports jump higher than 18 feet (world record) and maybe reaching 30 feet in pole vault with a long enough pole?? how high might he get?

1. Why would a runner jump?
2. the longer the pole the longer is the lever and weight of the pole will slow the runner down and he/she needs that energy to bend the poll
