I agree with Lacey G. Some older people have health problems that make it hard for them to wash up by themselves.
My mother-in-law in europe, only took a bath once a week when her daughter could come over and help her. she wouldn't let my husband help her and I was a "strange" American who she didn't want to help her.
She did get a bit sour smelling by the 5th day, thank God she wasn't a fish!It would of been over in 3 days!

NO. Dying people don't necessarily smell either. They are dying from something in their body failing. The rotting comes after death.
I think sometimes it is difficult for some old people to keep themselves clean. That is why they smell.

No, most old ladies I know smell nice. But I suppose dying old ppl smell cause they are rotting away on the inside.

but my grandfather doesn't cuz he's in love w/ cologne hahaha
and usually rich old people don't smel...unless it's like, tobacco or cologne or pine or something
