I don't see why you should be slated for speaking the truth. I live in an area where the vast majority of my neighbours are elderly retired couples and it pains me that old Mrs Jones two doors away was at my door last night scared in her own house.
I feel the sale of Fireworks should be regulated and it amazes me that right now as I write this up theirs kids at the bottom of my street setting of fireworks they can't be a day over 14!! personally if I want to see or HEAR fireworks I'd go to a display.
I find it pretty pointless setting them off at all hours and at this time of the year usually have trouble sleeping after work due to the amount going off in my area, the police are of no use and as I've stated already it's my elderly neighbours it pains me for.
Good question,
Thank you.

Fireworks are explosives. So, yes, I think anything over a certain size or anything the fires a projectile (bottle rockets and such) should be off limits to the general public as explosives are dangerous. Limiting sales to 21+ year olds does little good because, a) someone will still buy for them, as with alcohol, tobacco, etc. and b) people over 21 can still be quite immature and reckless with fireworks.

This crap government is too fond of banning
they dont need encouragement to ban more
so instead i think the age level raised to 25
for purchasing fireworks is fair
and then signing your address
for them in the shop
and the book of reciepts
available on the spot to police and
trading standards officials

i dont think they should be banned to the public, my father in law puts on great displays each year, but i do think that it could be sold in a more restricted manner, and sold in fewer shops, where i used to live and where my friend lives now, you are at risk of getting a fire cracker in your letter box, and screamers down the road, i used to dread walking home from work....they need to do more to make safer sales....i hope some of that made sense

A resounding, "It depends". Where I live it is illegal, and rightfully so. I live in an urban area- lots of people and animals about.
Where my in-laws live in a rural area there are criterion about how late you can use them, and you can't use them when there hasn't been any recent rain.

no WAY! I love my fireworks. There should be more enforced laws about where and when people can set them off though, there are too many idiots with lighters out there.

Definitely not. Not all the public is like that. Call the cops on your neighbors. Other people shouldn't be punished for some other idoit.
