just curious to know, if anyone out there has experienced this.
would you be happy for them or mad cause you could have won the money if you kept the ticket?
would you expect them togive you some seeing that you bought the ticket?

i have never bought anyone a lottery ticket as a gift but have received them, none of them won much, but i suppose if they did win big i would share a little with the person who bought them!

The giving of a gift whether it was for a birthday or other reasons becomes just that, something for someone and entirely their own. If they in turn are good people then there should be some acknowledgment of the gift to you.
Be happy for them as you would expect them to be happy if you win the lottery.

That never happened to me! Drat! If that happened, i wouldn't expect a "cut" but I sure wouldn't turn it down. If the situation were reversed and I won from a ticket that was a gift, I would feel obligated to share it with the donor of the gifted ticket.

I wouldn't buy anyone a lottery ticket because if they did win even if you were happy for them you couldn't help but feel envious so rather don't buy one, since its a gift you should and could not expect any money from it. I do however buy scratch cards at christmas and stick them in the Christmas crackers.

never. It is a gift. if they give you the money that's cool, but if not, don't complain. they don't have to, by giving a lottery ticket you're giving everything that comes with it, including any cash they might win.

I would not "expect" it but I would probably be surprised if they didn't kick a little my way.
Once you give someone a gift, it is really none of our business what they do with it since it is "fully" theirs at that point.

it would depend on the amount of the purse, if it was anything over $1,000, i would expect them to atleast give me 5% or something. If they were a true friend, then they would give you some of the money.

It wouldn't matter how much he/she won, I would not expect any money. I would be very happy for his/her good fortune.
