Gradual is the word for it . For 35 years its been going on hard and heavy and before that for 50 years tayloring the laws . They have spent the better part of a century working to make people ignorant slaves to corporate America and done a fairly good job .
Only a few rebels remain but they have no ability to change anything at this point .
The people are to well indoctrinated into the system to even hear what is being said to them in warning .
What the heck----- if you ask most of them they will agree to let you search their home and listen to their calls and search them before boarding a plane . They say only criminals who break the law have anything to worry about .
You know the blacks are poor because they are lazy and never bothered to get an education .
That Mexicans make good housekeepers because the blacks all became thieves stealing the white mans stuff-- But the Mexicans are worried you will deport them and you do not pay them till you have looked around the house . Anyhow we will all live in little boxes soon turning out the same crap over and over for around the same pay . No one will have the means to become self sufficient and we will need the government to care for us in our old age .

If you mean enslaved by the Oil companies, and the huge multi-national corporations, then YES.
If you meant by wealthy right-wing religious nuts, then YES
If you meant by fear-induced laws that surrender our privacy in the name of security, then YES again.
If you mean that men are being enslaved by woman who control two-thirds of the money, and All the vagina's,........well, I'm not gonna agree with that sexist remark !

I don't want to say enslaved per se. However, we are destroying the middle class, something that distinctively has helped our place in the world.
Business shouldn't rule the world.
