It would have been more like an adult world. I love this question. I'll tell you that if I could go back in time and be in high school with the knowledge, self-confidence and attitude that I have now, I would have dated a lot more guys, been a lot more popular and made choices which would have shaped my future in a more positive manner. That's why I think it's so important for us parents to impart upon our children the self-confidence early on not to worry about peer pressure and what others think, but to be true to one's self. If we had more teens who were free to be themselves and didn't feel they had to be part of a group, and who were secure enough to not be influenced by the actions or words of others, I think we would have a better world because young adults out there would be making better choices in life and society in general would benefit from that.

It's funny. I cared in Junior High what other people thought, but by the time I got to High School I no longer did. I had a lot of fun in High School because I didn't care and did my own thing with my friends and boyfriends....while my younger sister was always caught up in what others thought. I think it had a lot to do with her being so insecure about herself.
