Simply because Al Gore is an inconvenient IDIOT! It is all fear mongering to promote their agenda. It is all an elaborate hoax to make money off of, big money. The more you scare the people into believing it, the more money they will pour into it to try and fix nothing. Not to mention the fact, it gives governments a convenient way of imposing regulations and laws that further inhibit society and business and the worst of all Free Will. It is horrible that our society has come to this. That the general public is so stupid that they believe anything they are told all for the betterment of the common people. Big strong government must now step in and take care of everything because don't you know the government knows better than us. This is exactly what they are teaching our children in public schools and again, it is all for the Agenda. This big secret agenda to move towards the New World Order where we all live in one big society. I completely agree, it is all total crap!

When the author of "Jurassic Park", Creighton - a man of the Left - exposed global warming as a fraud, the Left pilloried him. I am old enough to remember [early 70s] when there was allegedly going to be global cooling and a new ice age with Dr. Paul Ehrlich. The carbon dioxide was going to form a barrier to sunlight and the world would cool. We were also going to run out of coal and oil by 2000. The whole thing is a crock, but it gives scientists research grants. This does not mean that the Sun has not heated up and pushed up the temperature.

You know the new, old saying. Whiney wheel gets the oil. We as a country have made stides in stopping the pollution of our water and atmosphere. We shipped all our industry out of the country. China is the leader now and much of our industry was sent to Mexico. Another answer person posted about the "ice age" we were in, in the 70s and that went away, but I wonder were do all those little pieces of rubber go that get thrown off wheels everyday. Only time will tell as far as monoriting it, what 100 years in several million. Take care.

I hope you are right but I think you are wrong.
The Inuits in Greenland have never seen such warm summers, I saw a documentary on this and saw the land exposed in a way never seen before by the Inuits.
Is the graph in the link below wrong? If so please explain why it is "wrong"The other New Scientist link has a string of arguments saying global warming is our biggest threat. Big business may be affected by anti pollution measures, this makes me suspicious of anybody claiming global warming is a myth.
But hey, if it turns out there is no global warming threat nobody will be more pleased than me, I WANT to be wrong

The word consensus is a political term. The entire global warming issue is being played as politics. Therefore using political language to define the debate only makes sense. What does not make sense are any of the political solutions Gore and his toadies have proposed to stop the natural cycles of the planet.

lol, i can't believe so many cons here are believing what they hear without actually looking it up for themselves, in which case they'd realize that what the poster typed is only half-true.
if you had looked it up yourself, you'd know that many of the 19,000 signatures are either confirmed fake, or remain unverified. one of the names on that list was even the name of a spice girl! other people who signed the list were not climatologists. the only qualification you needed to sign the list was that you had to have some sort of scientific academic degree. that means even chemists and other fields not directly affiliated with climatology could sign.
then again, it looks like you conservatives will take anything you can get when it comes to refuting global warming (by the way, even if all the 19,000 signatures were verified, and were all climatologists, that would not tip the scale. the consensus would still be on the side of AGW, which has thousands upon thousands of more scientists who believe in it).

Carbon credits. It's going to be very big multi-national business. I wonder, does Al Gore have any interest in that area?
The more that manufacturing in the US is curtailed, the better off the Chinese become. The illegal campaign contributions from the Chinese are very interesting in that light.
Al Gore is an egomaniac. He learned his documentary skills from Michael Moore. Half truths, fear mongering and chain yanking. Not to mention that he's picked a cause that won't be disproved until long after he's dead.
It's all just one more reason to believe the old quote: "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people." H.L. Mencken

There is no consensus on purported global warming, and even if there were, the scientists would have to lay out the case by basing it on real data, not just warm fuzzy political feelings among scientists. There was a consensus at one time that the heart was the seat of human emotions. Turned out the heart is a blood pump.

Hi!
I am a liberal sheep but still have my doubts about global warming. I recently read a book,(veeery scientific). Acording to that the increased level of carbondioxid in the athmosphere is a symptom rather then a result of global warming. Global warming may actually have something to do with increased solar activity. Makes sense to me. And the oceans "emits" 20 times more carbondioxid than humans. But there is no longer possible to vent an opinion that differs from that of Al Gore and the rest. That the majority thinks so doesn't necessarily mean it's right.

Hypocrites like Gore know that if you keep telling a lie long enough and loud enough, people start believing it.
I wonder when Gore will start blaming us for the global warming problems the CA fires caused - was this another "man made" problem? I already read about the problems that all the stuff in the air caused for the environment. I guess Californians need to buy carbon credits to offset the problems.
