An LCD is the smallest denominator that you can convert these fractions into.
If you have a fraction like 1/2 then 2 is the denominator.
For 1/10, 10 is the denominator.
Lets say you divide a pie into twelve pieces.
If I take 6 pieces then I have half ( 1 / 2) of the pie.
Thats because 6 would be 6 / 12 of the pie. You then convert this into 1 / 2 because 2 is a lower denominator.
For your problem you have the denominators of 10 and 35.
You need to convert these into the same deominator.
If I took 8 / 10 I could convert it into a lower fraction:
8 / 10 = 4 / 5
OK now lets look at the other one :28 / 35
If i divide the numerator (28) and denominator (35) by 7 I get 4 and 5 so
28 / 35 = 4 / 5
So both of these fractions are actually the same number:
4 / 5
The LCD for both is 5

To find the LCD, you want the smallest number that has 10 and 35 as its factors. The easiest way to find this is to write out each of the numbers as a product.
10=2*5
35=5*7
Notice both have a common factor of 5. So the lowest common factor is 2*5*7 = 70. This is the LCD.
You multiply the top and the bottom by the number you need in order to get the LCD.
For 8/10 - you multiply by 7 = 56/70
For 28/35 - you multiply by 2 = 56/70
(Although the easier way to solve this is to reduce the fractions first. Then you would see that both are equal to 4/5)

8/10 =56/70 since 70/10=7 yoummust multiply the top by 7 too thus 8/10 * 7/7= 56/70
28/35= 35*2=70 28*2=56
8/10=28/35 because 56/70=56/70
10=2*5
35=5*7
lcd would be 2*5*7=70

first you have to find the lcd:
so write out all the prime numbers that compose the two denominators
10 => 2, 5
35 => 5, 7
now circle pairs of numbers that are in both factor lists
only write the circled numbers once and write the rest of the numbers out as well:
2, 5, 7
2x5x7=70
so 70 is the lcd.
now convert both fractions to 70ths
8/10 x 7/7 = 56/70
28/35 x 2/2 = 56/70
ha look at that, they have the same value
hope that helped
p.s. you could've also simplified both fractions to 4/5

8/10 breaks down to 56/70
8 x 7 =56
10 x 7 = 70
28/35 breaks down to 56/70
2 x 28 = 56
2 x 35 = 70
therefore the answer is they are the same

LCD monitors or Liquid Crystal Display monitors are replacing the old CRT or Cathode Ray Tube screens and are far superior in a vast majority of applications. There are several advantages of LCD Monitors over the old CRT Displays. While LCD Monitors are compact and lightweight and consume less power approximately 20W whereas the CRT monitors are bulky and heavy consuming upto 150W. An LCD Monitor produces perfectly sharp images with perfect image geometry whereas in CRT the sharpness is limited and it tends to blur more at high brightness and with the aging of the tubes and suffers from geometric distortions. LCD monitors have a consistent tonal scale and can display text with excellent contrast whereas the CRT monitors display strong bright areas which can cause other regions of the picture to dim and also has poor text contrast because of limited bandwidth. LCD monitors do not normally flicker whereas a faint flicker can always be observed in a CRT monitor.
