i dont know how to hook it up please tell me step by step

if you have an hd tv:
simply connect the hdmi cable from the xbox to the tv
then change ur tvs input to "hdmi"
no hdmi input?:
connect the component (red,green,blue) cables to the corresponding component inputs on ur tv, then connect the attached audio (red, white,) cables (do nothing with the yellow plug) to an analog audio input on your tv (should be right next to the red,green,blue inputs)
be sure to put the switch on the base of the cables to "HDTV"
change ur tv's input to "component"
no component or hdmi inputs?:
use only the yellow (composite video) and red and white (analog audio) cable into ur tv where u see composite input or yellow, red, white inputs right next to eachother.
set tv's input to "compostite"
switch the cables base switch to "tv"
hdmi (hd) - best quality
component RGB (hd) - next best
composite (not hd)- not very good quality
