Ms who cares:
Isn't ignorance bliss.
Why would any one choose a life style in which they would feel forced to hide ?
Have you intellectual conservatives heard of trans gendered individuals? These "PEOPLE" are born trapped in the wrong gendered body and many know it as early as 3 years old.
Have you heard of individuals who are born with both male /female, female/male genitalia.
I don't believe this as I am writing this, on "Americas Most Wanted" there is a story about transgender.
This all happens inside the womb.
So with these extreme cases of birth "differences" why is it so hard for you to believe that "PEOPLE" with attractions for the same sex isn't just a milder form of these birth differences
Come on people lets take the blinders off, lets quite being so bigoted and racist, lets try being a little more inclusive.
never u: you don't know squat, by your theory then what about any one born with any mental retardation oh they don't exist.
According to you everyone is born perfect or else it's the beginning of the end. Get Real

Both. Some males are born with XXY chromosomes instead of XY, they maybe should have been born a female, but are trapped in a male body. I've know some after they decided to make the surgical change to become women. Some males are just too horny and will act upon sexual impulses, resorting to gay sex for easy cheap orgasms.
So, some are born that way, some make a choice.
Either way, there is no excuse to be abusive or disrespectful to these people, as long as the adults are only sexually active with consenting adults. I really don't care who is doing what behind closed doors. Some conservative gays live a more conservative life than so called Christians. They practice honest business dealings and don't need to have a fish on their business cards to make me do business with them.
There are unfortunately some Christians that think they have a license to be lousy ripoff businessmen just because they have a fish symbol on their letterhead or business card. Forgive me for ranting about the jerks that talk the talk but won't walk the walk.
I am ultra conservative, born again Christian, far right wing.
Some of us right wingers have more tolerance and compassion than the stereotype portrayal.

Learned behavior or psychological disorder.. I have seen people claim they were born gay, and I have seen people who were straight "turn" gay. Some have also developed a lisp and change the way they act and walk even though they were well into adulthood when they made the decision. That action alone doesn't support evidence suggesting people are born gay.. it suggests that they decided to be gay for what ever reason, and thus adapted there lifestyle to fit the particualr stereo type people have about gay people.
In addition I have read numerous studies attempting to explain why people are gay from a genetics stand point and non of them (from a scientific point of view) present valid evidence to support genics being a role (as of yet). I'm not saying it's impossible that somewhere down the road they won't be able to find something... however to me it's highly improbable.
So to keep it short I would say nothing I have witnessed nor any evidence can support the idea that people are born gay.
*Edit*
Tracey, animals do not think.. they base every decision they make off of genetic response to a need which is not what humans do. You cannot make a valid comparrison between a human with higher brain function and an animal without higher consciousness. For example, animals that ingage in intercourse with the same sex animal also do the same with there female counterpart... unlike "gay" people who only have intercourse with the same sex. I guess you could say animals are more bi-sexual.. which still means they fullfill there purpose for having intercourse, which is to have offspring and not to just "get off".
*Disclaimer*
This point of view was more from a scientific stand point then a "conservative christian" stand point. In addition "Belief" is a trademark of faith.. I do not have faith that people are born gay and base my decision specifically off of observation.

Sadly, there are people that consider being gay or not being gay a choice.
A sane person would not choose to be gay. Small children and other people who do not know what they are doing, are automatically forgiven by God and it isn't anyone else's place to judge them.
If people can be born PHYSICALLY both, then who's to say that something cannot go wrong hormonally, or something happen structurally in the brain affecting a person's inner feelings or desires sexually or even otherwise?
I believe it is largely a nature phenomena, more so than nurture, although there are things a person CAN change, they cannot change everything.
That is why, I believe that only God can judge any individual on this and any other basis.

The bible quite grants a good harsher concept than the present nature/nurture debate. the 1st human beings, Adam & Eve ate of the Tree of know-how against the command of God (an act of unfastened Will), therefor, they and all thier descendents (us) have the understanding of solid and Evil, and characteristic unfastened Will. meaning that, inspite of your heredity, and no count number how harshly or laxly you're 'knowledgeable' to have self assurance something, you nevertheless understand solid from evil, and could % to no longer do evil. once you think of roughly it, that's a tremendously uncompromising concept. there is not any room for extenuating circumstances or diminished means. From there, this is undemanding to reason that given which you 'understand' homosexuality is faulty, so does all human beings else, and people who % to work together in or preserve such practices are picking evil of thier very own unfastened will, and could face the outcomes. the situation with that reasoning is that this is God that does the judging. i'm an Atheist, and don't have self assurance any of that, despite if it is not that complicated to entice close, even from the outdoors. i've got not got self assurance that marriage is a precise. particularly, mariage is a ceremony - a religous prepare. we've freedom of religion, so enable them to marry or no longer marry as they have self assurance apropriate. The criminal aspects of 'marriage' could desire to be severed from the religious prepare, so as that there is not any discrimination against those with much less permisive marriage practices.

Residing in Massachusetts, and having many friends who are gay, this is always tough question. Here's my theory:
I really believe that many individuals are indoctrinated in school curriculum. Here we are informed of, and can opt out of anything traditional. However, we have no say in whether our children are exposed to "tolerance indoctrination".
No offense, but it starts by exposing young minds to the concept, much as young drinkers, or those who use drugs.
I'd compare it to giving pre-teens a bottle of beer, so they might understand addiction.
The result is unfortunate that there are many folks who have to live a life that may not be fully accepted by family members and friends.
The short answer: In most cases it's a learned behavior.

I personally believe that people can be born with genetic tendencies toward this behavior, much the same as someone being born with an addictive personality (there is brain research that shows that those more likely to become addicted have a different pleasure response to addictive substances.)
I also believe there are environmental factors at work. I personally know of people who have experimented with homosexuality or bisexuality to rebel against their parents and for the "shock" and attention-getting value of it. I know it because they admitted as such. I also know of a young girl that was "recruited" into the lesbian lifestyle and was very confused about her sexuality, but has since come to realize she was pressured into it by others.
Satan knows our weaknesses and how to exploit them. Sin is sin, and I'm not going to pass judgment saying one sin is worse than another. But we have to drop our pride and our denial and see it the way God sees it--it really doesn't matter what I believe, or what anyone else believes.

nobody was ever born gay. Even if you totally believe in evolution, being born gay would put quite a bite on population would it not? ...ok let me explain, IF humankind had a propensity to being gay, that would mean an ultimate end to itself , so in essence and end to the evolution process. right? why would some people be born gay? I mean what would evolutionists have to say about it? how would the gay people continue?or would they be some kind of freak of nature? (I dont mean to sound harsh) I dont think it makes any sense .

I resent the way you phrased the question. It sounds to me that you think that liberals are not christian. You said "from any party" which can also mean liberal, but yet you refer to them as Christian Conservatives. I am a Democrat and a Catholic and I know that my view of God is much more dignified than to be referred to as a "Christian Conservative."
