i just dont understand the logistics! i put the thread through the needle hole and double knotted it, its still attached to the spool... NOW WHAT?!

Have you tried to cut the thread so it is no longer attached to the spool? Try it you'll like it.

If your hand sewing, take a length or thread, about a foot and a 1/2, cut it off the spool first. thread the needle, pull the thread so that the ends are even, then knot the ends together. put the needle through the fabric or the two pieces of fabric ( depending on what your trying to sew, or join, pull the needle through, then back down, then up again, continue to the end, make sure you make a couple of knot's at the end so it doesn't pull out. good luck.

You put thread in needle and pull out about 18- 24 inches of thread and cut with scissors.Tie your knot in 1 end of thread. Now you are ready.
