They aren't supposed to. Danios should be able to breed many times in their 3+ year lifespan. If it died after mating, check your water quality (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and temperature). The breeding could have been stressful, but it is more likely that the female would die, not the male. Email me if you have any questions.

Not normally, but it's possible for any fish to die at any time, as, of course, you would know.
