I'm not a big fan of educational toys, but I wouldn't say I'd get my son "just any toy" either. I like toys that encourage him to use his imagination. These are actually better for children's developing minds than many so called "educational" toys.

I always tended to buy education toys. But a child can learn something from almost any toy. They all teach something. But always watch for toys that are safe and age appropriate

educational toys are good but i also like to get them toys that they can just play with too. as long as they are not covered in lead of course! BUY AMERICAN!!!

actually we buy him pretty much any toy he wants..he only 3 right now he only likes me reading to him Thomas the train kinda books and books with helicopters or dogs..

yes, it should be educational. that way they have a better learning experience at school. this gives them a head start on what is expected of them.
