excerpt:

"For Marxists, the root cause of all forms of oppression consists in the division of society into classes. For many feminists, on the other hand, the oppression of women is rooted in the nature of men. It is not a social but a biological phenomenon. This is an entirely static, unscientific and undialectical conception of the human race. It is an unhistorical vision of the human condition, from which profoundly pessimistic conclusions must flow."

The very reason that Feminism got started in the first place was because of their so-called oppression by men. The way they look at it they're still being oppressed; let me see a constant complaints are the rape issue and the pay status, which are at the top of the list of other complaints; not to mention domestic violence, which is always on the tops-turvy in the arguments going on there, who is more abusive men or women; no matter how you toss the dice they will always come back to that oppression thing; thus this is where all of those profound pessimistic conclusion do flow forever and a day..

That doesn't explain anything. I'm a feminist and I'm no Marxist. They don't always go hand in hand. It's possible to be a feminist and believe in a free market, even if some of Marx's sociological statements hold water for you.

This doesn't surprise me; nor does it surprise me as to why Hilary is both a feminist and a socialist.
