With all the donations, (over one million pounds I believe) why is it necessary to sell wrist bands. Personally I would be using the donations to give them away free. I am sure more would be worn that way.
The same with T-shirts. Use the money, spend it on giving stuff away for max publicity, It is there to spend not to sit in a bank making interest.
Again please forgive me if I have got this all wrong.
Just thinking out aloud.

I totally agree with you!
Why do they have to sell them now, wee Madeleine is now known world wide, giving them away now would do far more good!
They just seem to want to rake the money in and gather interest!
You don't need forgiven, you have asked a very valid and interesting question!
Thanks for that!

I would add to that question and ask If all these people running the fund are serious then what is Clarence Mitchell doing. How come he resigned from his highly paid job with government to take on the role of the Mcanns publicist. It could be they have to SELL the wristbands to pay his salary.BUT if he is taking a salary it just goes to prove that the little girls dissapearence has become a buisiness

I work in a non-profit organization so I know how much any donation at all is precious.

Buying things and then giving them away for free is costing a significant amount of money that could be going towards the people the cause is designed to help with no return. Besides, if people got it free, it defeats the purpose. It is not meant to be a fashion statement - it is meant to give something that advertises that the person wearing the item is worthy praise because they donated their money to the cause. It also advertises the cause to others who might want to donate.

The goal of most causes is not to spend money unnecessarily, it is to get much needed donations so that the cause can continue to expand on the good work that they are doing.

wrist bands and t shirts should be given away in fact if they were serious about finding their daughter they would be begging people to wear them
not selling them for a profit

They were being sold long before there was one million pounds. I think the idea was to raise the money.
