To all of you kooks who don't trust the government, why would you even vote for anything or anyone?

If you have to ask, it's possible that you've been socialized or brainwashed by Hillary. On second thought, perhaps you're just asking. The remedy to the problem will be worse than the sum total of all diseases.

"Universal" health care is a pseudonym for socialized medicine and a way of getting people to accept it. Socialism doesn't work - never has, never will.

The real short answer to your question is that is will prevent us from finding the REAL solution to the problem. Liberals and socialists always provide FALSE solutions that fool people into thinking that they will somehow work.

Plus, HOW is this going to be paid for? By raising taxes to about 90 or 95 per cent. You won 't be able to afford food, you stupid people out there!

Stay away from the horrors of socialized medicine.

Nothing, I live in Canada and we have Socialized health care. There are some drawbacks, especially where elective surgery is concerned. There is usually a waiting period there. In general, however, I've never had problems. ERs have to work on a triage system. If you go in for a non life threating reason, you will be by passed for cases that are life threating.
There was an article on "Dateline" a few years ago about a 4 year old boy in Oregon that needed a liver transplant, but his mother had to guarantee $300,000, up front before the hospitals would consider him. The announcer went to Edmonton AB, to interview a mother and daughter. The daughter needed a liver transplant when she was 3 yrs old. She rec'd it but when she was around 7, her body rejected it so she was given another. When the show was done, she was a healthy active 13 year old. Total cost to the mother: parking lot fees while she was at the hospital. The boy in Oregons mother was unable to raise the required deposit so her son died. You tell me which is better. Check out the Michael Moore movie, "SICKO" and it will give you an idea. Also people say that we pay a lot of taxes, truth be told, we do not pay nearly as much as Americans do for their HMOs.

Like Canada or Cuba???

In Canada an 18 - 19 week wait to see a specialist is the norm. Private health insurance is illegal. Doctors and nurses are banding together to provide private care for each other making members of the medical profession the biggest single group of criminals in Canada. Affluent Canadians routinely come to the US for health care.

In Cuba the health care is so good that when Fidel had his stomach problems he didn't use the PEOPLE's health care system. He brought in private physicians from Spain. Now that is putting your money where your mouth is...

Socialized/Universal Medicine is a system where a HUGE amount of money is used to seed the system. Then the funding slows to a trickle while all medical progress withers and dies. People waiting years and dieing while waiting for life saving surgery is the norm. It has one big advantage; the number of people over 65 needing health care will decrease significantly. They will die waiting for help.

Make no mistake about it, it is coming. We will have socialized medicine in the near future. I am nearly 60 years old. I worked my whole life at jobs with an eye toward having good health care in my retirement. Some of those jobs were pure suck azz jobs but I did them so I could take my medical insurance into retirement. Now I am retired and in a year or two my coverage will go away and I will have to pay for those who are/were too dumb or too lazy to take care of themselves. BTW, I wasn’t born rich; my parents couldn’t pay for my college. I left home at 18 and have been employed every since. The opportunities are there, but guess what you have to start at entry level, not as a CEO with an eight figure salary.

Socialized medicine is just one more nail in the coffin of the greatest economic engine this planet has ever seen.

Who ever pays the bills gets to make the rules. Do you really want the people that brought you the lines at the DMV or USPS to manage your health care? Canadians that have money come to the USA for medical care for a reason. Wait in line and die when the system is overloaded with people overloading a "free" healthcare system for every sniffle and belly ache, while serious problems are still waiting their turn.
Health care is not an easy to fix issue, but lets not do what other countries have failed at.
We should not have to sell all our property to pay medical bills if we have a serious problem. But my neighbor should not have to pay higher taxes to pay my bill either.
MD's have invested a lot of time and money on their education, and should earn a good income. I think the hospitals are putting the screws to us here. $900 for a 8 mile ambulance ride? Nearly $10,000 for overnight in ICU? The costs are unreasonable and we are choosing between groceries and medical care in USA. Profits are necessary to remain in business and develop new medical technology, but should not equal pillaging the patient. Maybe a sliding scale fee against income would be helpful.

Canadians only go to the States for treatment because there is not a service developed for that form of cancer or ailment. The same goes for any country where the care is available and one can afford it. Of course we have work plans that will cover this as well on top of the provincial health care, those of us who are lucky enough to work for an organization that offers a health plan.

Any one can walk into a clinic and get help if they need it, we take it for granted because we have had it, but you sure would hear alot of crying if it was taken away. It isn't perfect but we are still working out what is priority, with just so much of our taxes going there you.

Maybe the doctors won't like it too much because they get a set price for each patient as opposed to whatever price one pays in the US for a visit.

First of all we must face the fact that whenever Govt runs ANYTHING is done so inefficently and in a costly manner. Remember who is running your healthcare cares only about being a Bureaucrat, not your health.

Under socialized health care any cost savings are done via "rationing" of services, which means that a new treatment of type of equipment might not be available due to govt regulation. Also, you might be in a long line of people in a bloated system of hypochondriacs. Since many will believe the tired line that medical care is "free" they will use it at every occurance for hangnails, headaches, bruises, ect.

So, when you really need care, you might not be able to get it quickly. This is why many who can afford non-govt healthcare come to the USA for a much better and more immediate solution to their pain and suffering. In Britain many jettison their healthcare and travel abroad to do what I just stated.
Canadians cross the border frequently for the same reason.

In the end, nothing is "Free" and your taxes will go up tremendously to pay for an inefficent and bloated bureaucracy that does not give you "good" healthcare.

I suggest you ask this question on your worse (sick) day. Or as you're standing over your father or mother or wife who has just had a heart attack. If you need immediate care - you don't get it! If you need a heart transplant, you get put on a list (sometimes years), and one can only hope they/you don't die before it's your turn! Think about it for a minute. Anything the government handles, how 'fast' are they? You have to stand in line after line after line. Then, if everything is quote 'in order' you proceed. The 'if' is a big factor! Trust me, you will not find Hillary Clinton taking her daughter or grandchild to one of these hospitals or clinics. Her child or loved one would get immediate help - but not the average American citizen. Anything that falls under 'socialized' takes us backwards. She is a socialist!!! Go to the Internet and type socialist in and read about it! That's why communism fell!!!!!!

If socialism works, Jamestown would have been the most populated, thriving city in America.

It was instead, a flop. A disaster. It is proof for all to see...that socialism is impossible in real life, though it appears great on paper.

Also, study what happened in the Mormon communities that tried the UNITED ORDER. Murders, burnings, theft, brutal fights, hatred, and finally a new revelation.

"Orderville" was the name of one of the towns you should read of.

Every Utopian goal has been folly, once enacted, regardless of religion.

Nothing. As long as people who cant afford health care are treated fair and just then it will work fine. Its when those who have money get involved that it becomes a problem
