Yes, I have the same problem. I just told my husband my hand was cold. I have thyroid disease, so it makes it worse. Sometimes I'll put a small 'throw' of some type over it and that helps some and I can move my hand around under it.

The reason your hand gets cold is because its elevated from your heart. Poor circulation to the vessels in your hand will lead to it being colder then the rest of your body.

Try this.

Lower your mouse away from the desk, like on a smaller end table so the mouse is lower the the desk. Angle it if you can so it doesnt feel like your stretching your wrist. I built a small angled platform to my chair so my right arms hangs down next to my side. When im done using the mouse or go to type, i just put the mouse on my lap or up on the desk.

If you dont already have one, I would suggest a wireless mouse. Not only are they just as efficient, but you can pick up your mouse and move your mouse hand more often. This will get the circulation in your hand back, and in turn will become warmer.

Hope it helps.

between using the mouse, take your hand off and squeeze between your thighs to warm it back up. Also, change the position of your wrist for better circulation. If you don't have a mouse pad with a wrist guard, get something small and somewhat soft to lift your wrist about 1-2 inches off the table surface. It will be awkward at first but it will keep you from getting carpal tunnel syndrome and keep better circulation in your hand. It may not work immediately, but give it a couple days.

I agree with the ones who attribute this to poor circulation to the hand. When I learned to type, back in the dark ages, we were taught to put the typewriter keyboard level with or just below the elbow, so you weren't reaching "up" or "down" for the keys. I use the same positioning for the computer keyboard. Actually, since I can't adjust the desk, I adjust the chair instead. I also keep a gel pad next to the keyboard to further protect the writst.

My computer is under the shelf where my mouse hand is so I get a lot of heat coming up, therefore my mouse hand is always warm rather than being cold, and so are my knees, it helps the old Arthritis.

otherwise known as "mouse paw"?

Other symptoms include callouses (sp?) on your finger from clicking your mouse all the time, and carpel tunnel syndrome and aching joints in your writst and fingers -- just using that mouse too darn much people.

You need good wrist support and to take a break once in awhile, get a nice hot cup of tea or coffee and warm your hand on it -

Flex your fingers every once in awhile and rotate your wrist.

It sounds like you may be cutting off circulation to your mouse hand...why not purchase a gel wrist support for your mousepad? Worked for me!

Yes, I use the cotton stretch gloves. Plus, I have put a small heater under my computer desk. If the rest of my body is extra warm, my hand usually seems better.Or, I try to always have a cup of hot coffee or cocoa to warm my hand up.

No but it does get pins and needles some times and I have to give it a good shake but apart from that its OK. I think its a sign to get up from the computer and do something else for a while.

My hand gets cold, but I don't tend to notice until I try to pick something up and I can't get my hand out of the 'mouse position'!
