They usually get easier with age,and your left leg gets stronger.

If your clutch is not slipping or chattering when you engage it your clutch is in fine shape.

Clutches have two types of return springs, diaphragm (spring loaded levers) and coil springs, which look exactly like small valve springs. Generally speaking when the clutch friction disc wears the pressure plate is required to travel further toward the disc and then flywheel. The more the pressure plate travels the springs or diaphragm fingers get weaker. Therefore the petal would push easier. However if you replace the clutch high performance units definately push harder.

** I'd check every linkage point in your clutch system. You have a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. A mechanic could isolate which one is not doing the job correctly.

I had a 87 pontiac lemans that did that over time and finally the throw out bearing just exploded one day. If you are not handy with cars take it to a transmission shop that gives you a free estimate . It could be something simple or it could need a new clutch.

A newer clutch will most likely be harder. Clutches generally get easier as they age.

a new one will be easier to press but you shouldnt just buy a new car because the clutch is bad on the old one. just fix the cluch on the old one

errr I found it is the other way round - on a cable clutch the cable can get rusty and stiff and not slide through the sleeving making it harder to press

A NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY SOMETIMES WILL BE THE SAME.

IF IT IS SHIFTING CORRECTLY AND NOT SLIPPING JUST LEAVE IT ALONE FOR NOW.
