...just watched a very intriguing low budget fantasy film on cable, this morning; the plot was as follows: "...a young man, having moved into an urban apartment complex with his family, becomes unexpectedly intrigued and embroiled into a wonderous and terrifying world of magic, witchcraft and supernatural/mythological creatures..."
...shades of Harry Potter, you might say??? Actually, the film was a little ditty called "Troll", which I believe came out around the mid-'80's timeframe...
...Hmmmm!!! A young boy, entrenched and embroiled in the world of magic and fantasy; between the two films, a mere coincidence, most people would say...
...however, the name of the young boy in the film, "Troll", is revealed to be...Harry Potter!!! More than a mere coincidence, wouldn't you say???

...a most intriguing and revealing observation, and I tend to agree that the parallels between the two, are definitely more than coincidence; however, I think that the Harry Potter house of cards is way too big and invulnerable (...even in the contraversial midst of one of the characters, recently deemed by the Potter books author herself, as gay), for a cheezy, low-budget movie, which came out years before the books and movies, to make a dent or ripple in this multi-million dollar franchise/empire...
...a single person, trying to rock this boat, is hardly going to make a difference...especially when the boat is the size of the Titanic...
...but then, a single iceberg DID take out the Titanic, so anything's possible; I'd say, get on your high horse, spread the word amongst the masses, and give it your best shot...
