Time to get a lawyer, then. If he is not interested in trying to save your marriage, there's nothing you can do about that.

Unfortunately you will need a good lawyer to help you through this. If you financial situation does not allow for that to happen, just concentrate on your kids, and show that you are a good parent; that is your only option. This country's legal system favors women over men most of the time, therefore, unless he can prove you're a bad mother, it is unlikely he'll be able to take your kids away from you. If you're after money, you may not get what you want, as he seems to be set up pretty well, from a legal standpoint. If the kids are what's important, and you've been a good mother, you should be fine. If money is what you worry about, then you're making a bad judgment call, just like the one you made when you chose an abuse person to have a family with, and there's probably not much you'll be able to do.

Time to get an attorney and protect yourself. I suggest getting out while you can and DO NOT WAIT. Mental and emotional torture gets worse as time goes on. Trust me I'm there. And after 18 years he still wont leave. Count your blessings and make sure to take care of yourself. You don't say how long you have been married, but I would say you probably have a case. Contact a crisis line, or womens shelter or even a church if you feel you cannot find help on your own. Take care.

So he want you out without giving you anything huh? BS...doesn't work tht way unless you let it work that way.GET AN ATTORNEY WELL VERSED IN FAMILY LAW. You need to file first...and ask for 1/2 of EVERYTHING. File on the grounds of infidelity, adultry, and domestic abuse (which does not just mean physical abuse...mental and emotional fall under the same guidelines). Ask that his assets and accounts be frozen until such time that the two of you can come to a reasonable settlement. also petition the courts to make his debt HIS from the date that you file, that way any debt that he accrues, only he will be responsible for.

After all is said and done, thank God that you got out of the marriage when you did, and use what you get out of your divorce wisely...invest in yourself, and remember that his Bullshit is NOT A REFLECTION of who you are, your desirability, worth, ect. It is what it is...HIS BS. You will rise above and go on to meet someone else, live life to the fullest, and be a little wiser in matters of the heart.

Good Luck!

Your Husband should have thought about that BEFORE he Married you !! Get some "proof" of his affair, and get yourself an attorney. Then, you can divorce his worthless A@! and move on with your life. Do you REALLY want to be stuck with someone that shallow? Better to find out now then later. And his "mistress" will probably be in your shoes with him down the road. A snake is always a snake !!!
Sometimes it's worth your dignity and sanity to just walk away. That is something only you can decide. Good Luck !!!

Tell him fine get a lawyer and take him to the cleaners he has commited adultery and in the eye's of the court he has to pay and pay big time. No divorce is without some payment unless a prenup was in place and even then you would have had to do something for him to contest the marriage. This guy sounds like a moron get rid of him and find a guy who deserves your love. Since it appears he never cared for you to begin with.

What a drag to have to go through this, infidelity sucks. I hope that you have good family and friends to help you get through this time whatever you choose to do. If it is divorce, please get a lawyer A.S.A.P. You two are married and most states are 50/50, some have alimony......Give him a divorce but use a lawyer no matter what.........I have seen it go bad for way too many without one. If he tries to tell you that you cant or don't need one or anything at all, get a lawyer anyhow.

This is sad. Why a lot of men do this to their wives is beyond comprehension. They would rather see their ex-wives homeless, broke, sick, in jail, and/or dead. Always in a bad way. Then have the audacity to go off and be with another woman! He'd probably do the same thing to her as well without remorse.

It's time to move on with your life. Seek legal counsel.

That's ridiculous. I'm so so sorry - what a stupid threat. You have far more substance for your case in court if he's been having an affair. Keep strong...
