It doesn't seem to be very valuable according to this report ... albeit from approx two years ago.

The 1971 New 2 pence is the first year of the Decimal coinage now used in the UK, since the UK didn't go for the Euro bit. In the U.S. it can be found in dealers world coin boxes for .25 U.S. It has more value as a historic first coin, than a monetary one.
