It must be the wiring harness? I think? All the other lights work fine just the middle light and only the breake light. Is there a short cut around this ,so I don't have to buy a whole new harness.

If you have access to an inexpensive volt meter set it @ 20 V. Have someone press on the brake petal and place the red lead from the volt meter inside the socket where the bulb usually is snapped in. Run the black lead to a clean ground on the side of the tailgate. You should see 12 volts. Make sure the tabs inside the socket are bright copper, or brass colored. If the connector tabs are green grey or black You should replace the socket only. The new one comes with enough lead wire lengths, red white and black to solder, wire-nut or using a permanent clamp on sleeve to re-connect to your existing wire harness.

After you've done this please do the following to every bulb on your truck: Pick up a tube of silicone ignition grease at any auto parts store squirt a dab inside all the bulb sockets and press the bulbs back in place. This little step prevents corrosion inside the very cheap electrical sockets on all cars.

Have you ever noticed the number of relatively new GM cars and trucks running on the streets with a bulb out somewhere? The new design bulbs with exposed contact wires make very poor contact inside the sockets. High resistance causes oxidation directly on the flimsy contact points. The quality of the metal contacts inside the new sockets is simply terrible.

check the ground wire for this first gm had a problem with ground wires and this would cause the lights not to come on,also check the brake light switch,i usually find a bad ground wire on them when i check them, also make sure you have the right bulb in it sometimes they will give you the wrong bulb and that will cause it not to work right .

Take it to the dealer for warranty work, as its quite new.

do this BEFORE you go and molest it, because it sounds like you dont know what you are doing!
