Does gay teen suicide set the gay community back? Does it put us in a goodl ight, and also to you have sympathy for gay peopke who cimmit suicide because they hate themselves? I, strangley, do not feel sympathy. I don't know why I don't. But, I am gay and of course I would never commit suicide because I am hated.

I feel there is no reason in life to make someone want to kill themselves, except they are selfish, because of the people who do love them, feel so guilty about them doing this, life is good, and we should always try to make the best of it. Sicide, is a cowards way out,I know through personal experience, life is too good to be a looser.

Teen suicide is prominent in all types of teens. There is just as much suicide happening with unpopular teens, popular teens, teens that are abused... etc. Do I feel bad for them... Yes I do. I wish that we all could be accepted no matter what.. then no one would have to feel left out, hated and alone. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening any time soon. Teen suicide is so sad becuase these teens have never really had a chance to live yet... the teenage years are the hardest I think.

Teen suicide is a big problem. Gay or straight. Being a teenager can be a very hard time for some. We must all do what we can to prevent this tragedy. Religion helped me a lot when I was a teenager, but religion has gone out of style now to the point of being ruthlessly attacked by many.

I don't think it sets us back, but it doesn't put us in a good light. Maybe it might do some small good by letting people see how much their hatred and bigotry cause so much pain to people.
I do have sympathy for those kids, I was one of them. When my parents threw me out of the house at 15, and I was living on the streets, it was a serious consideration in my head for a while to just end the pain. I was lucky that my Grandma took me in; but I sure as fook understand the feeling.
You're lucky that you're a strong guy and can stand up to the crap you get from folks. Good for you!

I feel sympathetic towards such kids. I mean think about it, they feel so bad about themselves that they think it would be better if they just kill themselves. I could imagine one has to have gone through a great ordeal to reach a point where they do not see any value in their lives. It shows how as a society we are letting all those kids down. They feel such a shame in themselves because of something that is part of their nature that the only way to end the pain is to end their lives. Its so sad. :-(

It sets everybody back. I feel sorry for anyone that is so sad and lost that they think they need to kill them self. There are many gay support groups and lots of people to talk to. I am not gay, but have some gay friends. It is different here in Los Angeles, no one cares what color, sexual preference, sex you are. People in LA are more apt to shun you for smoking than for any color, sex, or choice you make.

im a lesbian and ive thought about suicide before. i think it does set our community back because we losing our youth faster than ever over things that can be avoided. it helps if they talk to someone, but in most cases they dont feel like they dont have anyone to talke to. society must realize, poeple dont want to kill thmselves, they just want the pain to end. i would sympathize to anyone in that situation because i know how it feels, although i would never commit suicide, i feel like its sometimes in the back of my mind.

suicide is common in the gay community due to the intrinsic sinfulness of the condition.
